Mellow Yellow

Mellow Yellow is a zine and a blog that gives voice to the “Asian” tau iwi population in Aotearoa (New Zealand) particularly from a decolonial, anti-racist and anti-sexist point of view.

We hold issue 2 of the zine in our collection’s Folder 6: Library Catalogue. This issue, according to Austostop Zine Distro, “talks about internalised racism, honorary whiteness, family, cultural appropriation vs. appreciation, language and liberation, and a wake up call to White women to work on their own shit”.

Black and white 'Mellow Yellow' zine cover. Flower pattern over the front and back cover. Bamboo plant black line drawing and hand written title on a front cover.

You can read Mellow Yellow’s blog and find there information and some scans of their zines.

Mellow Yellow is featured in this extremely interesting article about Asian Diaspora Activism through Zine-making by Helen Yeung.
